David has been playing in the AEA since 2016. He would win his first SPC title at Silver Puck Challenge III (2007) as a member of RVO in the Jonkman Cup (B) bracket. His first SPC title would be a 5-0 shutout win over S&S Carpet. RVO would return to the finals in 2009 at Silver Puck Challenge V. The boys from RVO would come up short in the newly created VanValkenburg Cup (B+) bracket. Dave would return to the finals at Silver Puck Challenge IX (2013) in the first ever weekend of the JEMC (30+) bracket. RVO would win the title over Charlie Tango in an overtime shootout (3-2). In 2014, Dave and RVO would return to the finals to defend their crown, but would fall short to Walker Ice & Fitness. RVO would make their third consecutive appearance to the JEMC (30+) finals and this time they would dominate VanKam (6-0) for their second title in three years.

In 2020 the AEA introduced a new bracket to the Silver Puck Challenge, it is named after David and his brother Brant Morgan. The Morgan Cup (40+) stands for the friendship and tournament loyalty that the two brothers have shown to the AEA founder since the early 2000's.

David now joins his brother Brant in the AEA Hall of Fame.
