Jon was inducted in the AEA Hall of Fame on June 1, 2018. Jon is the rink manager for Walker Ice & Fitness. Jon assisted the AEA Commissioner (Brent Belanger) in the very first Silver Puck Challenge and has been with us since, without exception the Silver Puck Challenge tournament may not be what it is today without the support of Jon Perz. Jon is also the originator of the annual July hockey tournament held at Walker Ice & Fitness known as the Walker Cup. Over the years he has managed multiple teams and/or found a wide variety of players to fill teams into the Silver Puck Challenge when needed. Jon has never played in any Silver Puck Challenge tournaments, but he has taken the responsibility or made the connection possible for building teams that will contend for a Silver Puck title, year after year. He is always in attendance, watching the event, and making sure things run smoothly not only for his teams, but for the AEA as well. Jon has had at least one team if not more in attendance at every single Silver Puck Challenge, never missing a tournament since it started in 2005. Many may think Jon is a direct competitor to the Silver Puck Challenge with his very own Walker Cup, instead we acknowledge him as a lifetime tournament partner and friend. Jon is a very important piece to the hockey community and a major part of the SPC family and these weekends are his, just as much as they are ours. Thank you for everything. He was also a first ballot AEA Hall of Famer.
